The Citadelles du Vin Special Prizes award-giving ceremony was held on 29 May at their stand at the Vinexpo Asia-Pacific exhibition, held in Hong Kong. The competition, organised under the patronage of the International Organisation of Wine and Vine, had taken place a week earlier in Bourg, (Bordeaux-Gironde), bringing together 50 tasters from all over the world, in order to select the best wines and spirits among the 1,045 samples originating from 32 countries. On the stand, where the dynamic and impressive 2012 image was displayed, each award-winner who participated at the exhibition, or had come to Hong Kong especially for that event, was honoured by Hervé Romat, CDV General Commissioner, Fabienne Cortadi, Director, Yann Juban, OIV Assistant General Director, and Nelson Chow, President of the Hong Kong Sommeliers Association. During the awarding of each prize, a presentation of the wine was carried out by Hervé Romat, followed by a tasting commentary by Nelson Chow. The proud and satisfied prize-winners left with their diploma and Citadelles trophy. Those who had a stand could rapidly put their awards on display, as these are of major importance in obtaining contracts on the Asian market.
The event ended with a cocktail in a friendly atmosphere, during which the prize-winning wines and some French products were served to the delight of those present. These Special Prizes were available for tasting by visitors to the exhibition over the following two days.
